Andrea MacLeod wants to share with you all that she has learned about why being a published author is so important for both men and women.
Andrea has always enjoyed writing. She remembers writing journal entries when she was a young teen, and has most of her young adult life recorded in journals of all shapes and sizes.
After researching what it takes to be an author, Andrea found out that indeed she was qualified to call her self an expert with her 3,000 + hours and over 20 years, of hands on women’s group coordinating, leading and training. This gave her the confidence and courage to pursue writing her first book. Andrea was on a mission to learn as much as possible about writing, publishing, marketing and media as she could, so that she could possition her self away from a stack of other aspiring authors on some publishers desk and closer to major media attention.
After more research, she realized it didn't really matter that she was an expert. The fact is, (and it is undisputable) , being a published author turns you into an expert, wether you like it or not. After learning more about what it really means to be a published author, she knew more than ever the urgency of getting her book completed. She knew she needed to help her own children, (whom she homeschools) to also become published authors because of the impact she knew it would have on their life. During her writing mission, Andrea's 9 year old daughter was inspired and beat mama' to the punch and published her first book titled, "The Best Day Ever" by Carmen MacLeod. The simple steps it took to have Carmen's book completed was a lot easier than Andrea thought. “It was beyond beautiful watching Carmen open up the mail and hold her precious book in her hand." said Mom. Andrea traded television time, for focused writing time. Writing about what she was most passionate about; supporting women to be successful in their lives. She wanted this book to be a gift to society in graditude of the women she has had access to in her life. "Without having women who cared about me and my success as much as they did their own, I would never had lasted more than a few years being married." says Andrea. |
